Hello Swim Families! 

We have finalized registration (214 swimmers!) and are ready for the season! Here are the upcoming key dates and information.

• The second swim team store is open until May 19 at 9AM. This round of orders is not guaranteed to arrive before the first meet, but it's important to look fabulous after the first meet too. Store link: RFTC SWIM – MECK PRINT

• Swim Team kick off is from 3-4 during RFTC Opening Day on Sunday, May 17. Please come by to hear from Coach Nicole and the Chairs, learn about the season, and cheer during the mascot race! If you cannot make it, we'd greatly appreciate it if you could ask someone to pick up your team shirts for you/your family. Otherwise you can get them at the Green & White meet.

• Swimtopia registration information will be sent on Friday, May 15 around 1p. Parents will create accounts and add their swimmers. Once registered in Swimtopia, you will be able to:
  • Sign up for your volunteer slots
  • RSVP for the season's meets
  • And so much more! Full details will be in the Friday email and we'll be available for tech support after kick off.

Swimtopia registration must be completed before Tuesday, May 26 (the first preseason practice) because it will be used for communication from Coach Nicole. Practice cancellations due to weather are common during preseason and it's important all parents have access to real time communication!

• Speaking of volunteering! (I know, you love it.) This season each family is responsible for 2 volunteer slots.
  • Families that chair, are on the swim team committee, or with special roles (Emily Brown, McDonnell, Utter/Kessler) have already fulfilled their volunteer obligations.
  • That leaves exactly 220 volunteer slots for 110 families. There's no buffer this year and therefore no escaping it (bwahaha!).
  • Each family must complete their volunteer sign up to be eligible to participate in meets. This isn't enforced technologically (though it will be next year!), but we will monitor it. We would greatly appreciate it if you could please sign up for your volunteer slots when you register and before you sign up for meets. Thank you!
  • Overview of volunteer roles: volunteer roles take place during meets, Swimathon, and the banquet. To the extent possible, each role is balanced for time and intensity (i.e. less intense roles have a longer duration). A short and a detailed description for each role will be available via Swimtopia.
